A New Take On 3D Printed Masks – Customized Mask Fitters

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3D Printing industry has become a prominent figure in helping provide resources to the medical community. The most common application of 3D printing has been creating face shields using a sheet of transparency and a 3D printed visor. However, we know that a face shield alone is not enough to properly protect against all harmful aerosol particles.

In a recent breakthrough, R&D Technologies has partnered with Bellus3D to bring custom-made 3D printed face mask fitters to anyone and everyone who regularly wears a cloth face mask.

The idea of this custom made face mask fitter is to offer a tighter seal around the nose and mouth area; thus, increasing the air seal and providing significantly less risk of exposure to the virus.

If you are interested in learning more about the mask fitters please view them here.

Please note, there is no scientific evidence the mask fitter reduces exposure to the virus. Please use at your own risk.
