This functionality has been around for quite some time, but might be overlooked. When you are creating drawings, you can dynamically add dimensions into your notes. The dimension will not be an unrelated string of text, but will update if the dimension updates. Here’s how it works; while editing a note simply click on the dimension and it will appear in your note. For SolidWorks 2008 this functionality also extends to balloons
