R&D Technologies Weekly Tech Tip

Topic: Mouse Scroll Wheel

This may seem really basic, but I have found that some users forget about the function of the mouse Scroll Wheel in SolidWorks. When working with parts and assemblies, if you scroll the middle mouse button, the model will zoom in and zoom out. And if you push down on the middle mouse button and move the whole mouse the model will rotate. This alleviates the need to move your mouse over to a rotate button to rotate your model, you can do it on the fly. If your wheel is being unresponsive, just click once in the graphics area and it will refresh. In drawings the zoom function is the same but the rotate function becomes pan.
