Despite exploding prices for raw materials and an increasing Euro/Dollar rate, the metalworking industry in Europe is facing a boom. This is also the impression from the recent trade shows in Utrecht (Techni-Show), Paris (Industrie 2008) and Duesseldorf (METAV), where SolidCAM presented its integrated CAM solution.
One limiting factor for further growth is still the availability of manufacturing experts. Our industry suffers especially from a lack of well-educated young professionals. At the METAV show, SolidCAM teamed up with other leading suppliers of the metalworking industry to present at a special booth high-end manufacturing technologies and job opportunities for tomorrow's professionals. Engineering - Jobs with Power attracted a lot of students, apprentices, teachers and school classes and thus became the most crowded booth at the METAV show.SolidCAM supports educational initiatives at all levels, also by granting special prices for educational institutions.
